Architects for the Community Workshop
During an intensive four-day architectural workshop, we combined professional expertise with the real-world needs of the local government, which, in this case, views high-quality architecture as a tool for change and for improving the lives of residents. In the authentic setting of the Liptov village of Partizánska Ľupča, architects, designers, and students—guided by experienced architects—sought solutions to specific urban planning and architectural challenges.
- We conceived and developed the theme and concept of the workshop
- We analyzed the village's environment and, in collaboration with the local government, identified specific local issues
- We transformed real-world challenges into assignments for five specialized working groups led by experienced architects and instructors
- We organized a professional program in the form of a guided tour and established a system of consultations and evening progress presentations
- We combined the principles of academic studios with open professional debate, thereby providing participants with a space for in-depth discussion within a broad group of experts
